Looking for chainsaw tattoo ideas?
Here are 30 of the best chainsaw tattoo designs I found on Instagram.
You’ll notice that many of them are inspired by Stihl or Husqvarna, and many more are based on films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Evil Dead.
However, there are plenty that are of unbranded chainsaw design ideas as well, including tree climber tattoos and cartoon chainsaw designs.

To start off, we have this great Husqvarna Chainsaw tattoo.
It’s not a blatant Husqvarna logo tattoo, as you see on some people, but I think it’s much more tasteful.
I can’t tell which Husqvarna chainsaw model it is but it definitely looks like one of the older ones.

Here we have an awesome tree climber tattoo idea – flick through the images to see the full ink.
It’s capturing the moment the top of the tree drops after being sawn by the hanging arborist chainsaw.

This is a really simple black and white chainsaw tattoo design from the Evil Dead.
The Evil Dead chainsaw is a Homelite XL-12 that was released in 1963.

Another chainsaw tattoo from the movies, this time it’s a quote from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch the clip here).
Rather than showing Leatherface with a chainsaw, a chainsaw quote is another way to show your love of the saw.

This is a slightly prettier chainsaw tattoo design – it’s still got the blood, but it’s got some flowers as well.
The effect of the chainsaw going under the skin is really cool, and you’ll see this a bit with chainsaw tats.

Here we have the outline of a Jonsered Chainsaw (I think the tattoo is yet to be completed).
Similar to the McCulloch saw above, this chainsaw brand doesn’t have quite as many raving fans as Stihl of Husky, but obviously, they are out there!

This is a really awesome chainsaw tattoo design idea.
It’s a freehand tat that was done to cover up a scar from a chainsaw accident – pretty cool idea, and those chainsaw teeth are wicked!

Here we have another Texas Chainsaw Massacre tattoo, this time focusing on the Poulan 306a Chainsaw used in the original film.
Poulan Chainsaws aren’t as popular as they once were but have ended up branded on a lot of bodies because they were used in this movie.

Here is a cute chainsaw tattoo, more in the style of an emoji.
I don’t think there is a chainsaw emoji, but if there was, this should be it!

A pretty awesome chainsaw man tattoo – Ash’s reflection is shown in the chainsaw bar.
Again, it shows how much movies can influence people’s tattoo choices. Would there be so many chainsaw tats if it weren’t for these movies?

This is our first Stihl Chainsaw tattoo on the list, and it’s a nice one!
I can’t tell exactly which Stihl chainsaw model this is, but perhaps the Stihl MS261?
Let me know in the comments below if you have a better guess.

A simple saw tattoo design here, but it’s nonetheless a good depiction.
In the post’s description (which you can click through to), they talk about why the chainsaw was invented – for cutting up people!

A Husqvarna tattoo on a woman – and it’s pretty nice as well.
I think most guys would want a longer chainsaw bar on it though, but that might have a bit to do with perspective!

Another cool Husky tattoo with fantastic detail and, this time, with a few splitting axes as well.
This one looks like it’s in memory of a lost loved one, a really good idea.

Another cool Leatherface chainsaw tattoo featuring the Poulan saw.
It fits in well with the other art on this person’s arm.

Rather than a chainsaw, what about just a chainsaw chain tattoo?
I think it’s really cool, showing all the different parts of a chainsaw chain.

A large chainsaw tattoo covering the forearm.
The saw is unbranded and could really be anything, but it shows an appreaciation of the tool, for sure.
This also has another chainsaw tooth tattoo design idea.

Here is a tattoo for loggers!
It shows the forest, the animals, and the saw chain.
I reckon the chainsaw chain direction should have been done as though it was on a chainsaw – what do you think?

Another Stihl chainsaw tattoo, this time with a bit more of a vintage effect.
It’s a cool style and a good place to put it under the upper arm. I like the perspective of the saw.
Looking at the other work done by this artist, it’s very much his technique.
You can see another chainsaw tattoo by the same team here.

This is a super cool color chainsaw tattoo of an old Homelite chainsaw.
The detail is incredible and the whole thing is just superb.
If you like this brand of saw, check out this Homelite converted into a guitar!

This is a huge chainsaw tattoo covering basically the entire length of the leg.
It comes with a Texas Chainsaw Massacre hashtag so perhaps it’s a model from one of the follow-up movies.

Another awesome saw chain tattoo idea!
They have inked the bar and chain details below their chainsaw injury scar.
I recently cut my hand with a mini-chainsaw and didn’t get scar quite this impressive, but if I did, I’d consider doing something like this!

A design combination here – a Stihl saw with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre quote on the bar.
Interestingly, while there was a Stihl chainsaw featured in one of the TCM movies (the Stihl 034), it was not a climbing chainsaw as depicted here.
This looks like the Stihl MS200T which is one of the most popular models of all time, especially for arborists and tree climbers.

Yet another tidy Stihl tat and I’m loving the colors.
This one also has a very small bar – perhaps it’s the MS 170 or MS 180?

Can you spot the saw tattoo here?
It fits in really well with all the other designs and colors.
It’s described as an 80’s chainsaw.

Another groovy chainsaw design inspired by The Evil Dead.
Looking good!

A subtle Stihl saw tattoo with the machine sitting on a stump.
You can see the Stihl name on the bar, but it doesn’t smack you in your face like some.

Here is one that does smack you in the face.
It’s the Husqvarna logo and name right across the arm and shared on the company’s Instagram account.
“Cut me, I bleed orange” – unless you’ve got an army green Husqvarna saw!
Do you think the guy who got it is from the home of Husqvarna, Sweden?

Lastly, we have another arborist tattoo idea.
It’s a climber up a tree, and while there’s no sign of a saw, we can assume it’s there somewhere, right?
He or she has his or her arborist helmet on at least!
Best Saw Tattoos
There you have it, 30 of the best saw tattoos – at least, 30 of the best on Instagram!
I think the chainsaw chain tattoo designs are pretty cool, along with the Stihl chainsaw tattoos.
No doubt there are plenty of awesome ones out there which are not displayed on social media.
If you want to share your chainsaw tattoo, leave a comment below and I might be able to add some more pics to the collection.
One final idea: a tattoo of Tom Green getting his desk chewed up by a chainsaw…
