Types Of Ashley Heating Appliances

Ashley provides a wide range of Ashley wood furnaces, Ashley wood-burning stoves, Ashley fireplaces, circulators, and pellet stoves.

Most come with blowers (or they can be bought separately), but you could also consider a wood stove fan.

1. Wood-burning stoves

Did you know that wood Burning stoves are one of the most popular heating appliances?

It uses seasoned firewood to operate, and thanks to the EPA certification, it doesn’t produce more than 2 grams of smoke per hour. You can store the firewood outside, covered or not, and carry them inside in small batches.

It is cheap to operate and very economical, but a HETAS accredited installer should do the installation.

Also, it has a 20 to 25 years lifespan so that you won’t worry for the next 25 years.

On the other hand, it needs consistent maintenance to keep the heat constant, and it involves spitting, stacking, and wood mess around your home.

2. Fireplace Inserts

A fireplace insert is a firebox that you can easily insert into your existing fireplace to increase heat output. The fireplace insert installation is cheap, and it takes minimal time to do it. You can choose from three fuel types, natural gas, wood-burning, or pellet stove.

The wood-burning fireplace inserts are ideal if you need the highest BTUs to heat your home, access to certified wood, or if you have electricity problems.

If you want to press a button and have a warm living space in a few seconds, the gas-burning fireplace might be perfect. It provides the highest efficiency when it comes to heat output.

Electric fireplace inserts are another option.

3. Pellet Stoves

Pellet Stoves is an eco-friendly electric heater. It burns recycled wood waste pellets, a clean form of heating where you can set it and leave it for the day.

The pellets are made from recycled materials and have an easy installation. You can place the pellet stove anywhere since it is very portable.

It is one of the most efficient heat sources, with a lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

On the other hand, it is expensive, uses electricity, and has many maintenance requirements. Also, you might face problems with the storage since the pellets require a large space and availability since they are not easily available in areas.

4. Circulator

Ashley Hearth has two types of circulators which are coal and wood-burning circulators.

The coal circulator offers a trouble-free, non-catalytic operating system, and is thermostatically controlled. It is tested and certified by Warnock Hersey International.

The wood-burning circulator offers a trouble-free, non-catalytic operating system to provide a clean burning. It is 2020 EPA certified.

Coal stoves have their pros and cons, just like everything else.

5. Furnace

The furnace is a home heating appliance that burns natural gas, oil, or propane for the feast and distributes the heat through a fan’s duct system. The furnace is one of the most popular old types of heating systems.

There are three types of furnaces:

  • Gas
  • Electric
  • Oil-burning

Gas furnaces have a low operating cost, but it has a shorter lifespan than an electric furnace.

The electric furnaces are cheap to install and have a long lifespan. However, this type is expensive to run.

Ashley produces only warm air furnaces, to use with coal only.

  1. I didn’t realize they had so many different types of heating units. I’m just looking for a freestanding wood burner but it’s interesting to see the other options. Never heard of a circulator before and they’re a bit ugly imho!

  2. I just purchased an Ashley 2000 wood stove and am not at all happy with it. Your review was one I checked before hand so I am not happy with it either You indicated these stoves are made in the U.S. but in fact they are made in China. And no mention was made of the firebox dimensions. In the case of the 2000, the firebox depth is totally inadequate so while the stove will accept a 21″ log, it will only do so sideways, which causes problems when trying to load the stove properly. I wish I could have seen the stove in person first, I would have kept shopping. Thanks for nothing!
