Is the ORHFS Mini Chainsaw any good?
The ORHFS brand sent me this mini saw (here on Amazon) for free to test out and write a review on.
I’ve been using it A LOT to be honest – it’s so handy for such a huge range of things around the home and garden.
For example, I’ve been pruning fruit trees, felling small unwanted trees (up to 4-inch trunks), cutting lumber to make a small outdoor table, and much more.
ORHFS Mini Chainsaw
The ORHFS Mini Chainsaw is a lightweight handheld saw for pruning.
It’s new(ish) to Amazon, so doesn’t have a lot of sales or reviews yet, but it’s definitely worth considering.
Here’s what comes in the box:
- Mini chainsaw
- 2 batteries
- Carry case
- Tools for tightening chain and bar
- 2 chains
- 1 4″ bar
- Charger
The carry case is excellent for storing everything together and transporting when needed.

As stated in the video, I’ve been using this mini saw for all sorts of things from lumber to branches – it’s so easy to pick up and use at a moment’s notice – just make sure the batteries are charged!
Even after using the saw on a number of projects, the chain still appears to be very sharp and hasn’t needed to be sharpened yet.
ORHFS Mini Chainsaw Specs
This easy-to-use mini chainsaw comes with two 21 volt batteries.
They take about an hour to charge up fully, and I’d guess that you get almost an hour’s total use out of a single charge – it’s hard to say because I’ve not picked it up and used it for an hour straight yet!
It comes with a 4-inch bar and chains, but it can also be used with a 6-inch bar and chain (here on Amazon, for example).
Most mini chainsaws are the same with these bar lengths.
Other specs:
- Safety button – you need to hold it down to pull the trigger
- Weighs 2.2 lbs – really light
- Total length 13 inches – it’s the perfect size
- Cordless – obviously, but needs to be said
- Safety cover over chain – somewhat helpful
The chains are easy to change as well, and there’s no need to worry about that aspect. There are instructions on how to do it appropriately on the Amazon listing here, but it’s similar to how you do it for a regular chainsaw.
ORHFS Mini Chainsaw Review
As you will have heard in the video, I think it’s a good mini chainsaw.
It appears to be durable, hard-working, and just gets the job done, which is what I want at least.
The battery lasts well and it has decent cutting power.
Overall, I can recommend the ORHFS Mini Chainsaw for anyone that’s looking for an affordable pruning tool for their home and garden.

Pruning Chainsaw For Gardens
The ORHFS Mini Saw is an excellent little tool for gardeners.
It’s so much easier to use one of these tools over a set of pruning shears, and it beats having to pull out the larger battery chainsaws.
Use this saw for:
- Cutting lumber – doesn’t give the cleanest cut, but good for some tasks
- Pruning branches – easily cuts up to 4″ branches
- Dropping small trees – small width trunks are no problem
- Pruning shrubs – larger shrubs can be tidied up quickly
And for those who have a mini wood stove, you could use a mini saw like this to cut wood for your fire.
