Denqir Mini Chainsaw Review: Specs, Features, Pros, Cons, And How To Use

Is the Denqir Mini Chainsaw any good?

I was sent a free version of the tool to test out and then write this review.

I have used this mini chainsaw (available here on Amazon) for a range of tasks now, from cutting lumber, branches, and small trees, and have found it to be very good.

Here are all the pros and cons, plus a video of it in action.

The Denqir Mini Chainsaw isn’t the cheapest mini chainsaw on offer, but it does come with a few other bits and pieces that the other models don’t.

What you get:

  • The mini chainsaw
  • 2 21v batteries
  • Charger
  • 2 bar sizes: 4 and 6 inch
  • 1 chain for each of the bars
  • A pair of gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Tools for tightening chain etc.

It also comes with a good carry case that fits all of this – including the spare battery – inside for easy transportation.

Most other mini chainsaws don’t come with 2 batteries or 2 different bars and chains, so that’s a bonus with this brand.

Here’s a video I took using the Denqir Mini Chainsaw to cut a few different types of trees and wood around my property.

You can see that it quickly and easily can cut through reasonably thick branches and pieces of lumber.

I will continue to use the saw and update this post as I learn more about it and discover its limitations, however, it seems to be an excellent little device for pruning and cutting lumber.

The Denqir mini chainsaw is a handheld battery saw – aka electric pruning shears for gardeners.

It weighs around 2 lbs and is used with a single hand, setting it apart from regular light chainsaws which always require two hands.

The main limitation is its small bar, only 4 or 6 inches, but that’s why we buy such products – they’re for the thin stuff.

Other specs:

  • 550 watts
  • 19.69 ft/s chain speed
  • 14 inch length
  • Over-charge protection
  • Over-heating protection

I haven’t tested it out myself, but the battery is said to last 100 – 120 minutes and take 1.5 – 2 hours to charge.

The bar and chain is easy to remove and change, and replacement chains can also be found on Amazon.

I recommend the DEWALT 20v battery chainsaw for use as a light saw with a 12″ bar for thicker branches and trees.

You will have seen most of my review if you watched the video up above.

I do like this mini chainsaw because it works well, is easy to use, and has a good amount of power for such a small tool.

It’s going to be useful for those small jobs that I have pop up all the time, whether that’s pruning tree branches (we have a lot!), cutting lumber quickly, or even dropping unwanted brush.

We get a lot of random plants and trees growing up in our paddocks (see some examples in my Stihl FS 55 Brush Cutter review) and this mini chainsaw will be great to use for that sort of thing.

Pros:

  • Lightweight and maneuverable
  • Powerful with fast cutting
  • Quiet operation (you don’t really need earmuffs unless you’re using the saw extensively)

Cons:

  • None so far!

Handheld Chainsaw For Gardeners

The Denqir Handheld Chainsaw is great for gardeners.

Use it for pruning and cutting:

  • Bamboo
  • Thick weeds
  • Branches
  • Shrubs
  • Lumber

It’s a lot easier than using a non-electric saw and is much easier to pick up than other types of chainsaws.

Standard battery chainsaws are very easy to pick up and use as well, but being able to use a single hand for the smaller stuff is nicer.

I certainly didn’t want to get out my gas-powered Husqvarna 450 Rancher to prune these branches or cut down that fruit tree – I’ll be using the Denqir mini saw from now on.

Finally, check out what I was able to easily section up with a Stanley Fatmax reciprocating saw recently, and let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

    • It appears to be decent quality – doesn’t feel cheap, if you know what I mean? I think the chain will dull reasonably quickly (depending on what you’re using it for) and will require a smaller file to sharpen. Replacement chains are pretty cheap for those who aren’t confident with chainsaw sharpeners.

  1. Mate I didn’t know what I was missing out on until I got one of these mini chainsaws. Always thought they were pretty gimmicky but after I was gifted one I can’t stop using it. Just so much easier than using a manual saw!
