The Husqvarna 592 XP 90cc Chainsaw: Best In Class!

| | , ,

The Husqvarna 592 XP was released in mid-2022.

It’s a 92cc, 16.9 lb professional XP chainsaw. The 85cc Husqvarna 585 was released simultaneously, though this is not an XP/professional chainsaw.

Here’s a review from one user in the Husqvarna Chainsaw FB group:

592 with a 28 inch bar is a force to be reckoned with, providing an unforgettable operation experience. From falling to bucking, it’s a sheer delight to run.

I’ve been fortunate enough to push it to its limits on some challenging projects lately. Compared to all my other saws it quickly became my favorite saw!!!

It’s so good, if it blows tomorrow I would buy another one in a second!!

The Husqvarna 592 XP is a large professional-grade chainsaw designed for forestry and tree work.

It’s built for tasks like felling big trees, limbing, and cutting large logs. With a 92.7cc engine and support for bar lengths between 20 and 36 inches, it’s intended for demanding jobs where high power and longer bars are needed.

Features like AutoTune 3.0 aim to keep the engine running smoothly in different conditions, and it’s generally used by loggers, arborists, and other professionals working in forest or timber operations.

There are two versions of the 592:

  • Husqvarna 592 XP
  • Husqvarna 592 XP G – Heated handles and carburettor ensure comfortable handling and starting in cold, damp conditions

She also says:

  • Perfect cutting capacity
  • Great weight, balance, and power
  • Cuts at a sustainable throttle for as long as you want it to
  • It munches wood and cuts very fast
  • Less fatigue after a day cutting with the light bar

Professional forester Darren Dean from BC, Canada summarizes his thoughts on the 592 by stating “You can’t slow it down.”

His other thoughts in the 592 XP review include:

  • Cutting speed is amazing
  • It’s a beast
  • The autotune 3.0  is really nice
  • Great starting technology
  • Starts well every time hot or cold

Here are some real user reviews from the Husqvarna Saws Facebook group.

Zack posted:

The 592 is growing on me, I do like it quite a lot.

I’m not brand loyal one way or another, had plenty of saws from different manufacturers but this one isn’t even broken in yet and it has got a set of stones on it, that’s for sure.

And he added:

I’ll be honest straight outta the box I wasn’t impressed with the 592.

I would have put money on my 500i outcutting it with a 24” bar, but after I ran a few tanks through it and ripped a log with the tip of the bar in it all the way down to calibrate it, she woke right up and is a very different saw.

Avery said:

Yes sir, I bought one just recently, biggest saw I’ve ever owned!

Damned thing don’t have any bottom in it, just pulls and pulls, torque for days! One powerful son of a gun no question, love mine!

  • Blair said, “592 is a beast. My favorite saw. Pulls a 32″ bar with absolute authority.”
  • Rusty said, “It’s one of the top 3 saws that Husqvarna has made!”
  • Tim said, “Love mine. Cutting up big wood all the time in Oregon with it.”
  • Christian said, “Great saw. Bought one last year- tons of power.”
  • Vic said, “Great saw bought it last year, extremely powerful and is one of the smoothest saws to run.”
  • Charles said, “I prefer the 3120 XP.”

And regarding modifications and Autotune, Christian said:

Get a foam airfilter and take the spark arrestor out of the exhaust, it will come alive alot more. Also 8 pin sprocket on bars under 30”.

When you make these mods, let saw idle for 3 min, then perform a long cut with bar tip buried in a log, like, the full length of one of those in the background of this pic.

Keep resistance but high rpm, that will tune H and L “screws” in the autotune program to suit the new conditions.

This is also worth doing if you take your saw out on a dry day and then the next day its raining like crazy etc, saw will adjust to conditions much faster.

I hope that makes sense. Manual doesnt say any of this but i have helped alot of autotune saw owners over the years with this now, and it really does make a big difference.

You’ll hear the carb adjusting itself👍🏻😄

Have you tried and tested the 592 XP?
