Tanaka ECS-650 Chainsaw Specifications

| |

The Tanaka ECS-650 is a professional-grade 63 cc chainsaw introduced in the late 1980s by Japanese manufacturer Tanaka-Kogyo. Built with a magnesium crankcase, chrome-plated cylinder and high-quality internal components, it earned a reputation as a durable, smooth-running forestry saw.

Although later superseded by the ECS-655, the ECS-650 shares much of the same engineering and remains a sought-after vintage model among collectors and users who appreciate classic Japanese-built chainsaws.

  • The ECS-650 is generally regarded as the direct predecessor to the ECS-655, with the later model adding an inertia chain brake, updated anti-vibration system, and minor refinements while retaining the same 63 cc platform.
