Vintage Blitz 400 Electronic (Oleo‑Mac 240) Chainsaw Specifications

| |

The Blitz 400 is an Italian-made 38 cc chainsaw that is a rebadged Oleo‑Mac 240 model from Reggio Emilia. In parts catalogs it is listed alongside the Oleo‑Mac 240 and related Folux saws.

For example, a parts retailer notes that a crankshaft for the “Blitz B 400” is compatible with the Oleo‑Mac 240 and Folux F4. Similarly, a guide‑bar listing groups Blitz B300, B304, B400 with Oleomac and Papillon (Cutter 4) models.

In practice, this means the Blitz 300/400 saws are essentially the same hardware as the 38cc Oleo‑Mac 240 (and are also sold under the name Papillon Cutter-4 in some markets). These late-1970s/early-1980s saws were compact two-stroke machines (with an unusually modern electronic ignition for their time) and today are curiosities among collectors.

Here’s a quick video of the Blitz that one of our FB followers, Jacob H, shared in the comments.

Another FB follower, Pietro P, shared the following image, saying the Blitz 300/400 is an Oleo Mac 240 (which is the original), and another version is the Papillon Cutter 4.
