The Jonsereds XD Raket is an early and rare 85 cc chainsaw model from the Swedish manufacturer Jonsereds.
It was launched in the late 1950s (around 1958) and produced until the early 1960s (roughly 1962).
The saw pictured here is listed on eBay (June 2025) with seller szabsa76, who regularly has rare and interesting chainsaws for sale.
The listing description states:
I offer for sale the very rare Jonsereds XD Raket chainsaw shown in the pictures.
Its specialty is that it does not work with a carburetor, but with an injector.
It was produced in Sweden from 1958 to 1962. 85 cc, 4.2 hp.
The saw is in good technical condition, it works, it starts but it is not perfect, I see that it gets a lot of fuel, it needs more work!
Its manual oiling is perfect. With an original sword and chain.
Due to its age, I recommend the saw not for cutting wood, but for collecting.
I also ship to the USA, shipping to Europe is cheaper. Please inquire!
There is no warranty or refund.

Key Specs:
- Engine: 85 cc (52 mm × 40 mm), rotary-valve two-stroke
- Power: 3.16 kW (4.2 hp) at 6650 rpm
- Weight: Approx. 10.9 kg (24 lbs) with a 19″ bar

The Raket (“Rocket”) line began in 1954 and evolved through multiple versions:
- Comet → Raket XA (hot-bulb diesel concept with propane heating) → El/Raket XB (with electric ignition) → XD Raket (as pictured)
- The XD variant is noted for combining a conventional two‑stroke petrol engine with Jonsereds craftsmanship
The inscriptions are “Tillverkad for Como M&T Bjerke Stockholm”
This Swedish text means “Manufactured for Como M&T Bjerke Stockholm” and points to an important chapter in early Jonsered history.
Como M&T Bjerke AB, based in Stockholm, collaborated with Jonsereds in launching the Comet and early Raket chainsaws in the 1950s. This saw was made by Jonsereds in Partille/Brastad but branded or distributed “for Como M&T Bjerke.”
These were early export-focused models, often produced in limited runs of several thousand, making them quite collectible.
These saws are among the earliest mass-produced one-man saws by Jonsereds, predating consumer-friendly chainsaws with brakes and modern safety features.
Model: XD
- The Raket XD series, a rare late-1950s to early-1960s Swedish professional chainsaw
- The XD was a refinement in the Raket series and one of the last before Jonsereds moved toward more modern plastic-bodied models
Serial Number: M22606
- The “M” prefix is typical of Jonsereds serial coding of that era
- The serial number is relatively high in the XD range
- Many known XD Raket examples have numbers in the M20000–M24000 range, suggesting this one was likely built around 1961 or early 1962
- This is near the end of the XD production run
