Husqvarna 450X Chainsaw with Autotune Announced for 2025

| |

Alongside their announcement of the 564 XP fuel injected chainsaw, Husqvarna also released news of the 450X.

The 450X is set to be released on September 29 in countries such as Sweden. It’s a 50.2 cc, 3.35 hp saw “optimized with Autotune™.”

This is the listing description (translated from Swedish):

Powerful chainsaw, optimized with Autotune™

The Husqvarna 450X is a chainsaw for landowners and it is designed for high-performance use in all landowner tasks, including forestry.

It has a combination of high power, increased robustness and ease of use. It features an optimized 2.5 kW X-Torq® motor and a superior power-to-weight ratio, ensuring efficiency and easy handling.

With AutoTune,™ a minimal number of steps are required to start the 450X, and engine settings are automatically adjusted for optimal performance in all conditions.

In addition, Smart Start® minimizes the effort that is otherwise required when starting. The sawing experience is further enhanced by features such as a colour trap benchmark and unlosable bar nuts.

Some comments from a thread in the Husky FB group:

  • Richard said, “I’m super excited. I’ve only had ranchers. We’ll see what these new saws bring.”
  • Doug said, “Really cool they’re being innovative, I’m just not a fan of the 400 series stuff myself.”
  • Mikko said, “What they really needed to do was update 543xp and their clearing saw lineup.”
  • K&A Firewood asked, “So it’s a 450 rancher with autotune?”
  • And Ben asked, “Does this mean they’re bringing back the 465?”

See it running in the following promo video.

The video description states:

Husqvarna 450X is a landowner chainsaw designed for high-performance use across all landowner tasks, including forestry, combining high power and increased robustness with ease of operation.

Equipped with an optimised 2.5 kW X-Torq® engine, it offers superior power-to-weight ratio, ensuring efficiency and easy handling. With AutoTune, minimal steps are required to start the 450X, and the engine settings are automatically adjusted for optimal performance in any conditions.

In addition, Smart Start® minimises the effort needed when starting. The upgraded cutting experience is further improved by features such as coloured felling marks and captured bar nut.

The 450 has been through many versions in its time, from the base 450 and the 450 e-series, to the 450 Rancher and the pink 450. They are also releasing the 450S with Smart Start this year. But the 450 with Autotune is the biggest development.

For those who aren’t aware, here’s how Husqvarna describes Autotune:

AutoTune gives optimum engine performance throughout automatic engine settings.

No time spent on carburettor adjustments. It compensates for different fuels, altitude, humidity, temperature and clogged air filter.

The 450X is not their first non-XP (aka non-professional) chainsaw with Autotune. There are other models such as the Husqvarna 565. But it is the first saw with as X designation, as far as I’m aware.
