Found an old 257 that sat for 20 years or so. Someone gave it to me and said it wasn’t worth fixing. Checked fire, poured a little fuel in the carb, and it fired right up.

Seems to be around what a stihl 290 is power wise, but a whole lot lighter and easier to work on. I prefer my 346xp but the 257 is a good firewood saw if it’s in good shape. Slap a 262xp piston and cylinder on it and you have a sleeper that’ll keep up with most new 60cc saws.
