Here’s a fantastic example of the Jonsereds El-Raket XB Chainsaw, which was produced from 1957 to 1960. It was listed on eBay by seller ‘szabsa76’ in September 2025, where it sold for US $1,490.00.
The XB El-Raket is best understood as the electric-ignition evolution of the semi-diesel XA Raket.
Chainsaw expert Magnus said the XB arrived when electric ignition became available and quickly killed off XA sales:
XA was not easy to sell and soon electric ignition was available in same saw now named El Raket XB.
This ended the sales of the XA very fast. A few were made that had electricly heated hot bulb, XC.
The XB still kept one of the family’s most unusual technical features, an injection pump in place of a conventional carburetor. It also used a reduction-gear drive rather than a direct drive, which is why it has a fairly modest chain speed.

Vintage Jonsereds XB EL-Raket chainsaw
I offer for sale the very rare restored Jonsereds XB Raket chainsaw shown in the pictures.
Its specialty is that it does not work with a carburetor, but with an injector. It was produced in Sweden from 1957 to 1960. 62 cm³, 2.3 hp.
I replaced the crankshaft bearings (3 pieces!), the crankshaft seals (there are 3 of them in it), as well as the fuel pipes and one of the copper pulse pipes.
The saw is in good technical condition, ignition is good, it starts but stops in a short time. I see that it gets a lot of fuel, it still needs to be worked on! With an original sword and chain.
Due to its age, I recommend the saw not for cutting wood, but for collection.
