In 1962, STIHL produced 6 Golden Contras to celebrate the production of 200,000 chainsaws. These chainsaws were randomly shipped to 6 customers. In this post, I’m sharing pics of a replica Golden Contra, but we have the full story and history here.
It’s believed that none of the 6 Golden Contras survived. They were shipped back to STIHL after being tested, and the company has said they were all destroyed. However, some dispute this, and you’ll see posts from people who claim to have found one of the Golden Contras from time to time.
