Mall Chainsaw Brochure from 1950: Models 624, 636, 648, 660, and 672

| |

Featuring the Mall 624, 636, 648, 660, and 672, this 1950 brochure shows just how serious early chainsaws were. These were huge two-man machines with bars ranging from 24 to 72 inches and weights of up to 100 pounds, built for professional timber crews rather than weekend firewood cutting.

Mall promoted them as the answer to labour shortages and rising lumber demand, highlighting features such as an automatic clutch, adjustable cutting positions, a removable idler and a reversible guide plate.

The brochure also claimed the saws could cut faster, reduce fatigue and recover more usable timber than traditional hand tools, and even included a wall-mounted electric chain sharpener to keep the enormous chains ready for work.
