Power Machinery 19 and 19-A Chainsaw Specifications

| |

We have the Power Machinery model 19-A pictured here, but you’ll find the specs for both the 19 and 19-A below.

The PM Model 19-A replaced the short-lived Model 19 by switching from a reed-valve intake and Tillotson HP carb to a poppet-valve intake with a Tillotson HL carb, while also strengthening the crankshaft bearing arrangement and revising external components for durability.

Here are the specifications, followed by the interesting story of the pictured saw.

Chainsaw story

This saw is now part of collector Tim Hunt’s collection, and it came with a story.

It says:

This saw has not had a lot of use in its time. First owner fell 6 trees, the seventh landed on him & k*lled him. Saw tied up in estate for years (not used).

Farmer bought it for son to go scrub cutting. Son said too bloody heavy, got lighter one, gave this one back to his dad (again not used). I got it some years later, used it just for firewood for myself for a few years then decided it was too bloody heavy, got lighter one.

Had it for 40 years. Not used for at least 30 years. Sat in my shed.

Check out more of Tim’s saws which we saw at a agricultural show day, or you can see one of his rarest saws, the McCulloch BP-1.
