The king of chain saws

There are still a few kingdoms left in the world. One of them is Sweden, situated in northern Europe. There is still a monarchy in Sweden but it is a long time since the Swedish king wore his crown jewels. They are nowadays more of a symbol representing tradition and lasting value.

Husqvarna is a jewel among chain saws. High quality, reliability and outstanding technology are well known concepts the world over. For every chain saw user there is a Husqvarna that never fails to uphold its reputation. That is why Husqvarna is one of the world’s leading chain saw manufacturers.

In the following pages you can read about some of the chain saw models in the extensive Husqvarna range. And whichever chain saw you try out, you are bound to agree with millions of other users — Husqvarna is the king of chain saws.

Low service costs ensure good overall economy

The simpler the better is our motto. Look at a Husqvarna!

A few simple hand movements are all it takes to undo the cylinder cover — 3 screws to reach the airfilter, carburetor and cylinder. If it then proves necessary to work on the engine we have made sure that only a minimum of tools will be required.

Low service costs and short standstill times are features built into every Husqvarna saw.

The right design

Our testing team of lumberjacks cut down tree after tree. While our technicians listen, make minor adjustments and modify. That is how a chain saw with the right ergonomic design is created.

The slender saw body with its smooth surfaces and no sharp corners concentrates the weight of the saw close to the body of the operator. The front handle is angled to ensure correct working position with a straight wrist in all operations.

Husqvarna, a quality concept

The name of Husqvarna is a quality concept in the chain saw world.

Every single component, no matter how small, is manufactured with meticulous precision. And when we choose materials, only the highest quality is good enough. That is a guarantee of reliability and long service life.

Every chain saw must first demonstrate that it is worthy of bearing the Husqvarna name before we mark it with our stamp of approval — proof that the chain saw you hold in your hands is of the highest quality through and through. And is correctly human-engineered.

Take care!

Vibration isolation is definitely a Husqvarna specialty. Over the years we have developed a system which ensures that the minimum possible vibration reaches your hands. In principle, the vibration of the engine section is isolated from the handles due to a number of strategically located elements.

But if you shake a Husqvarna you will find that it still gives you the right, firm chain-saw feel. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why Husqvarna users work so much more effectively.

A powerful chain saw needn’t be noisy

A low noise level calls for a large silencer. Since Husqvarna chain saws have an upright cylinder, there is room to fit a good-sized silencer inside the compact housing.

An ingenious system which forces the exhaust gas to pass through narrow ducting inside the silencer also helps to keep the noise level down. Furthermore, we have filtered out many unpleasant induction decibels by means of tight-fitting cylinder cowls and well-controlled air passages.

Not one unnecessary ounce

There’s nothing special about making large and powerful chain saws. Any manufacturer can do so. So can we.

But we adapt our saws to the user instead. That is to say, we make them lighter and more compact than other chain saws while still making them powerful, reliable and extremely robust. Durability in combination with lightness is a result of our continuous search for new, lighter and better materials.

Husqvarna stands for safety

Imagine having a braking system on your car that sensed when it was time to apply the brakes and did so fully automatically without requiring you to do anything at all. What an invention, what a safety system!

Such braking system exists for chain saws. For Husqvarna.

The Husqvarna brake stops the chain at lightning speed if you should get a vicious kickback — without you having to react or strike the kickback guard. All Husqvarna chain saw models — with the exception of the electric model — are equipped with our fully automatic chain brake. Even our electric chain saw has a manual brake.

238
From zero to max.
in nothing flat

If you work professionally and efficiently, you know how important it is for the chain saw to respond instantly to the throttle and quickly attain maximum revs. The Husqvarna 238 has this very engine characteristic — a real Formula 1 chain saw when it comes to acceleration.

Naturally, a chain saw with the engine characteristics of the 238 has to have a reliable brake. The Husqvarna brake stops the chain at lightning speed — and automatically if you get a kickback. Regardless of how you hold the saw.

A chain saw must also be easy to use without tiring the operator. For this reason the 238 has one of the lowest vibration levels of all saws on the market. Vibration-isolating elements are mounted at exactly the right places so that you won’t get the shakes.

The Husqvarna 238 is a human-engineered chain saw in regard to design and weight. Owing to its slender saw body you can work at speed with good accessibility in all situations, while its low weight enables you to work intensively for lengthy periods without growing tired. That is what is called efficiency.

Limbing is energetic work. With the Husqvarna 238 you can work at high efficiency for lengthy periods without growing tired. The results speak for themselves.

254
Familiar on the outside
– all new on the inside

When our technicians set out to design a new saw in the 50 cc class they did not want to produce yet another “ten-a-penny” saw. The result was a 54 cc saw with characteristics that put it in a class apart.

The Husqvarna 254 has everything you could wish for — and more besides. High power, reliability, technological innovations, low noise and vibration levels … Everything is compactly assembled under the familiar Husqvarna housing.

Thanks must go in part to the Power-Flow piston, a Husqvarna speciality, for the excellent power output. The fuel-air mixture is moved by the piston for maximum cooling and service life while large transfer ports ensure a high power output.

In spite of its power, the Husqvarna 254 is an unusually light saw. High grade reinforced polymeric material keeps the weight down without sacrificing performance and durability.

A Husqvarna chain saw fells with ferocity and limbs with litheness. And just keeps on running and running. So the Husqvarna 254 is a clear favourite in the 50 cc class.

266 XP
A powerful saw
of compact size

Large-diameter trees demand a lot of the chain saw, above all strength and ruggedness. As in the Husqvarna 266XP.

Hidden under the skin of the Husqvarna 266 XP is a veritable gold nugget — an engine designed down to the smallest detail for getting to grips with really large-dimension trees. For example, the crankshaft is extra carefully balanced to minimise vibration and give the saw a longer useful life. And, like several other Husqvarna chain saws, the 266 XP is equipped with a Power-Flow piston.

Although the 266XP is a powerful saw it is still compact in size and handy to use. Owing to its slender saw body with well-designed and correctly-positioned handles, the Husqvarna 266XP does not feel heavy — indeed, it feels almost lighter than it actually does weigh. Anyone who has worked a few weekends in the forest will readily appreciate the advantages of that.

It will surely come as no surprise to learn that production of the Husqvarna 266 XP is proceeding at full steam ahead. Such a good saw cannot help but be highly popular and in great demand.

Bottom left: So powerful and yet so servile. With the Husqvarna 266 XP you get right up close to both stem and body.

Bottom right: When it’s a case of high performance in forests of large-dimension trees, the right saw is a Husqvarna 266 XP.
