Husqvarna 22 Chainsaw Specifications

| | ,

The Husqvarna 22 was one of Husqvarna’s early lightweight homeowner saws in the 1970s, marketed under the “Husky” branding in some regions.

It predated the later 30cc-class saws like the 33, 34, and 35 series and reflected the simpler design philosophy of the era:

  • Breaker-point ignition
  • Manual oiling
  • No chain brake
  • Rigid handle system

The Husky 22 (Husqvarna 22) is a small, early-1970s consumer saw—often described by collectors as an “early ’70s Husqvarna 22”—that shows up in a distinctive white/cream “easter-egg” oval-bodied form, with some versions believed to have been built/assembled in Canada by Trail/Quadra (TML) for multiple brands.

It was introduced in 1973, displaces 34.4 cc, and is very light at 2.77 kg / 6 lb 11 oz (powerhead only); it’s a direct-drive, centrifugal-clutch one-man saw with no chain brake, manual oiler, Phelon ignition, and typically a Tillotson HU-18C or Walbro WA carb. Factory bar range is listed as 12″ to 16″, running 1/4″ pitch chain (Oregon “25” type), with working RPM around 6,500 (12,000 no-load).
